California Combat Concepts - Background and Philosophy

Sifu Brent Pierce, the Chief Black Belt Instructor, has been involved in the martial arts for over 19 years having trained in the arts of Shaolin Kenpo, Tae Kwon Do, Escrima, Kick-Boxing, Jeet Kune Do, western boxing, and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. Sifu received his Blue Belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu under Carlson Gracie, Jr in November of 1999. Sifu Pierce has spent the past 10 years working as a police officer in the state of California. His experience in a large metropolitan city has given him invaluable experience in the realities of street combat.

Here in our Eden Academy (Sifu also co-owns another school in California), we strive to provide all of our students with a practical no-nonsense method of self-defense.

Our children's program enables each child to progress at his/her own pace. Every child will receive instruction in realistic self-defense skills and will develop a strong moral code through respect and self-discipline. Good grades in school along with respect in and out of the academy are stressed and enforced. Our staff will work hand in hand with parents, teachers and counselors to ensure that each child becomes the best that he/she can be.
